Summary/Objective
The Manager is responsible for ensuring assigned services and administrative support areas operate in support of the Company goals and mission. Responsibilities include supervising assigned service and administrative support. Supervises staff in the performance of assigned duties, care of pets and customer satisfaction.

- Proactively supports company mission statement and customer service standards.
- Create and maintain operating procedures for assigned services areas.
- Manage facility and personnel ensuring client and animal care services are provided in compliance with company procedures.
- Recommend increases as circumstances warrant to established rates & fees.
- Recommend changes as needed to established client policies and monitor for effectiveness.
- Monitor staff performance related to execution of service to expectations.
- Oversee performance of new staff & annual performance reviews. Ensure corrective action is performed as necessary, is done as per Company policies and procedures documented.
- Oversee interviewing and hiring in accordance with employment laws/company procedures and proper documentation of new employee files.
- Create and maintain staff training program in service areas. Ensure all staff complete Orientation/Onboarding and other general staff training programs timely and with observation of transfer of training.
- Monitor occupancy and service growth rates in assigned service areas.
- Identify slow periods &/or downturns and coordinate with marketing to feature service and/or modify policies & procedures to turn around performance.
- Create new programs related to service area as needed or appropriate & coordinate marketing plans with manager.
- Handle client service issue escalations in a manner that maintains company’s reputation.
- Set area goals to support overall business goals and initiate changes to rectify shortfalls.
- Monitor payroll efficiency/cost versus revenues earned.
- Prioritize and complete duties within the overall business goals.
- Maintain “to do” lists and project lists with priorities, target completion dates and status.
- Delegate tasks that others can complete under your supervision & guidance.
- Meet critical deadlines or request assistance from management team.
- Monitor supply stocks/purchases/usage & explore low-cost alternatives.
- Be available as needed for weekend or holiday pet or facility issues that escalate to management team.
- Oversee proper use of equipment in assigned areas and maintenance as required.
- Work with Services Manager for capital expenditure additions or replacements of equipment.
- Maintain good working relationship with supply and maintenance vendors requesting service as required.
- Management projects as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Competencies
- Excellent oral & good written communication skills.
- Previous work experience demonstrating dependability.
- 1-2 years of experience supervising staff.
- 1-2 years of work experience in animal care industry preferred.
- Self-motivated, independent worker with attention to detail.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position directly supervises service and administrative support staff.
Work Environment
This job operates in a store and doggie daycare environment.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; stoop, bend and sit. This job requires the employee to lift at least 25 pounds infrequently.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days, nights, weekends, occasional holidays and extended work hours may be required.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED.
Preferred Education and Experience
Some college preferred.
