Hello, my name is Melissa.  I am the Service Manager here at Care-A-Lot Pet Supply.  I started working at Care-A-Lot Pet Supply in December of 2010, five days before Christmas.  It was then that I realized I had found my dream job!  What more could a girl ask for; dogs, kittens, birds and lizards all under one roof and no one to tell me NO MORE ANIMALS!  I think I have the coolest career ever!  There is nothing else I would rather do.  So what is it I do you ask? I oversee all the service departments which include daycare/boarding, grooming and training.

I started my journey with Care-A-Lot Pet Supply as a kennel attendant where I spent most of my time with the dogs in their play groups.  I learned a lot about canine body language and behaviors, how to gain trust and how to run a large pack of dogs.  There is nothing like walking into a pack of dogs and knowing what they are doing and/or about to do.  It takes a lot to be a pack leader and to lead a great team of employees!  Shortly after I started with Care-A-Lot Pet Supply I became assistant manager of the daycare and grooming salon and then manager shortly after that.  In 2017 I accepted my current position as Service Manager.  Although I am not with my dogs as much as I used to be, my job is very challenging and I wouldn’t have it any other way.  Every chance I get I spend it with dogs and enriching my staff at the same time.  My staff continues to help train me to be the best I can be. There is always something new to learn and they always give me the best challenges.

I love animals so I venture out to petting zoos and other animal related educational exhibits.  I enjoy a good video game, fishing, crocheting and family time. My three cats and pit bull have trained me so well that I think they laugh at me when I try to act like a clown with them.

I work with wonderful animals who have owners that take great care of them. I have the best trainers around and an awesome group of groomers that work hard every day. My daycare staff is dedicated to the welfare of all the animals in their care.  I am super proud to be a part of the Care-A-Lot Pet Supply family.  It brings me great joy to be a part of the greater good.
